Whites hold unfair advantage over blacks in South Africa

The history of South Africa has been discussed to death by politicians, philosophers and analysts in South Africa and around the world and therefore needs no introduction to South Africans, but just how much impact it had to our lives today needs to be looked at. I dare to say that after 18 years of democracy, the minority still dominates in every aspect in this country, and I dare to say that in South Africa white people still enjoy an unfair advantage over their black fellow countrymen and women. I am talking about in the workplace, schools, Universities and everywhere else in this country. White South Africans enjoy a great deal of wealth that was acquired under the apartheid regime. Have anyone ever wondered why the rate of unemployment is so low among the white communities? Why do they dominate in schools and Universities? Why are they driving expensive cars at such a young age? Well I have and the answers are all there to see.
Their Advantage in the workplace
South African private enterprises are still very much at the hands of the minority, not because they worked for these enterprises but because they inherited them from their parents who built them under the apartheid regime. Unequal opportunities back then meant that white citizens were bound to accumulate more wealth than the black citizens; it is therefore fair to say that these enterprises are at their hands by virtue of inheritance (They never worked for it) and that amounts to an unfair advantage over other citizens. Because these enterprises are white owned, white citizens get first preferences when it comes to job opportunities, and when a black person does score a job, they are bound to be in a completely different pay scale from that of their white colleagues.
White employees also tend to climb the ladder much quicker than black employees, not because they are more superior but because they are favoured by management. It is also more common that white employees hold managerial positions that sometimes should be held by black or coloured employees that are more deserving. I am by no means implying that all whites’ benefited from this advantage; there are those who worked tirelessly hard to earn their wealth and therefore deserve to be applauded. It is however important that everyone be given equal opportunities to perform to the best of their abilities.
Universities
It is a known fact that white students have much more resources compared to the black students; If you are reading this from a computer lab, please look around and count how many white students are there, not many hey?, where did they go to? Why are they not there?, well they are sitting in the study room at the comfort of their homes, they have everything there, they don’t need to be at the library or computer lab, what must they do there when they have all of that at their homes?. Just follow them after class when they go to the parking area and see what cars do they drive and how many of them are going to be asking for a lift; I promise you very few of them are not driving, and in fact those who are not driving will wait for their Parents to come and fetch them. They are always early for classes and have everything organised and printed notes and neatly bound them. You would swear that they are smarter, no they are not; they are just enjoying what they forefathers forcefully took away from the black men.
While the white students are sitting in classroom waiting for the class to start, the poor black student is probably sitting in a train or running around trying to catch a taxi to school. While white students are browsing through their assignments in class, the poor black student is standing in a queue at the library attempting to print their assignments, while white students are sitting at their study rooms doing their assignments with a cup of coffee next to them, the poor black student is standing in a lab waiting for somebody to leave so that they can gain access to computers, while white students are busy binding their work at home, the poor black student is standing at a binding shop waiting for their work to be bound, and we still wonder why in most cases white students have an edge to black students.
White citizens are by no means superior to the black citizens, they just have a psychological edge and plenty resources at their disposal. What a black men dreams of, is simply one of the basic requirements of a white men’s normal life. Blacks are worried about where are they going to get jobs after graduation, while whites already know that they will be placed in a managerial position at their uncle’s, father, mother in law’s company somewhere along the coast.
Communist system might not be entirely a bad idea after all!
That as it may..................I am proud to be black.......the struggle continues.
